At Penn State the Pittsburgh native was national student president of the&nbsp;Architectural Engineering Institu [...] ]]></description><content:encoded><![CDATA[<div class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;">PEP Is Growing<br /><strong style="">Sept. 25, 2012</strong><br /><span style=""></span><br /><span style=""></span>PEP welcomes Penn State alumnus Josh Wentz to our Mechanical Engineering group.<br /><span style=""></span><br /><span style=""></span>A LEED&reg; Green Associate and Engineer-in-Training (EIT), Josh holds two degrees from Penn State University: BAE in Architectural Engineering and BS in Information Sciences &amp; Technology.&nbsp; He also earned a minor in Architecture Studies at the Pantheon Institute in Rome. At Penn State the Pittsburgh native was national student president of the&nbsp;<a href="http://www.aeistudents.org/" style="">Architectural Engineering Institute</a>&nbsp;and co-founded the&nbsp;<a href="http://ssae.psuae.org/mentor-program" style="">Student Society of Architectural Engineers Mentor Program</a>on campus.&nbsp; Josh&rsquo;s research interests focus on building information modeling, energy management &amp; modeling, and building automation &amp; controls. Through research, he developed&nbsp;<a href="http://www.buildsci.us/virtual-pulse.html" style="">VirtualPULSE</a>.&nbsp;a web application &nbsp;that simulates building energy and airflow online. &nbsp;At PEP Josh works closely with the Mechanical Engineering and Clean Technology teams on a range of new construction projects in the U.S. and overseas. Those who attain this rank are called an Eagle Scout or Eagle. Requirements include earning at least 21 merit badges and demonstrating Scout Spirit, service, and leadership. This includes an extensive service project that the Scout plans, organizes, leads, and manages. The title of Eagle Scout is held for life, thus giving rise to the phrase "Once an Eagle, always an Eagle".<br /><br /><span style="font-weight: bold;">REFLECTION</span><br />Neil Armstrong, Gerald Ford, Donald Rumsfeld, and Steven Spielberg have come to be well noted, prestigious, and respectable in the American society.&nbsp; Yet each unique in his own way, the one common factor that links all of these men together is their experience in the Boy Scouts of America.&nbsp; Each of them has risen through the ranks to become an Eagle Scout.&nbsp; It is a rank that only 0.512 percent of all males achieve.&nbsp; I am proud to say that I am a part of this small percentage.&nbsp; Several years after enrolling in Cub Scouts I became a Boy Scout.&nbsp; I then had to fulfill requirements in the areas of independence, leadership, and service as I advanced through the ranks of Tenderfoot, Second Class, First Class, Star, Life, and soon Eagle.&nbsp; As I progressed through the ranks, the Boy Scouts developed my sense of self and allowed me to interact with unfamiliar people in unfamiliar places.&nbsp; I was tested both mentally and physically in order to shape my character.&nbsp; Penn State&rsquo;s leadership opportunities are varied and abundant.&nbsp; I will take these skills of working with people I do not know and lead wherever I need be.&nbsp; I could only hope to lead with as much charisma as the men above.&nbsp;&nbsp; <br /><br /><span style="font-weight: bold;">CARD</span><br /></div><div ><div style="text-align: left;"><a><img src="https://www.joshwentz.net/uploads/2/6/2/8/2628377/754892.jpg" style="margin-top: 10px; margin-bottom: 10px; margin-left: 0; margin-right: 10px; border-width:1px;padding:3px;" alt="Picture" class="galleryImageBorder" /></a><div style="display: block; font-size: 90%; margin-top: -10px; margin-bottom: 10px;"></div></div></div>]]></content:encoded></item></channel></rss>
